"Eventide is a archaic word for evening". Its the end of a long day for the seagulls and shrimpers alike. This piece was put together with at least ten different source photos. The pilings, the buoy in the channel, each boat, and each seagull brought together to create the image. Originally, I drew a fifth seagull coming in for a landing on the empty piling in the center. It was the most challenging seagull to draw for some reason and I struggled to get it right. After hours of reworking the landing seagull it finally got it just right and then in the end I didn't use it because I felt it blocked the activity in the background. I want the viewer to notice different happenings of the drawing each time the look at it.
