This piece won "Best in Category" at the first art show I entered it in. With this piece I wanted to convey a cold, still early winter afternoon. I can smell the Pluff mud. The biggest challenge was actually the interior of the boat. I struggled to get the interior lines and depth to feel right. If you look closely the shadow in the bow is a light purple similar to the sky and water. The exterior was very satisfying to work on. I think this boat was a beauty when new and even now she has a lot of character.
